CAA Bahrain — Civil Aviation Regulation 006
Bahrain requires a permit from the CAA (Civil Aviation Affairs) for any drone operation in Bahraini airspace, under Civil Aviation Regulation 006.
Tourist flying effectively not allowed
Per the official page, as of 28 March 2026 all drone activities and related approvals in Bahrain are suspended until further notice — reconfirmed still in effect as of 16 September 2026, nearly six months later, with no lifting date announced: currently no drone flight, even with a permit, is allowed. Check the current status on the official site before travelling.

No-fly zones usually follow the same recurring categories (airports, military sites, protected areas, historic centers). Why registration exists
Operator registration exists for accountability: if a drone causes an incident or enters a restricted zone, the authority needs to be able to trace it back to whoever was flying it. You usually get an identification number (operator ID) to physically attach to the drone, valid for every drone the same person owns. The cost is often minimal or free, and it applies to visiting tourists too, not just residents.
